The CBDT has officially extended the due date for furnishing Tax Audit Reports (TARs) under section 139(1), Explanation 2(a) for AY 2025–26.
New Deadline: 31st October 2025 (from 30th September 2025)
Portal performance remains smooth with over 4.02 lakh TARs uploaded and 7.57 crore ITRs filed till September 24, 2025.
Extension follows professional representations, natural calamity disruptions, and interim orders of various High Courts.
Taxpayers and professionals should make use of this extended window for timely compliance.
